This amazing shot was a cover of Aviation Week & Space Technology and a book.
The U.S. Air Force Lockheed VISTA MATV F-16 is flying sideways at ninety degrees angle of attack (90 AOA) half way through the Pugachev's Cobra manuever high above Edwards Air Force Base.
The smoke visable is coming from the sidewinder missle-like smokewinders placed on the airplane thanks to the good folks at Lockheed.
