Iranian Plane Crash Kills Commander Kazemi Print
Aviation News
According to reports on Iranian State television, the Fars News and Irna News agencies, Revolutionary Guards Ground Forces Commander General Ahmed Kazemi was one of 15 people on a stricken Falcon jet when it went down about 500 miles from the capital city of Tehran.

The reports say the plane crash occurred at 0600 GMT.

The exact age and model of the French-built Falcon business jet are not known, but Iranian aircraft from U.S. builders are difficult to keep airworthy due to sanctions imposed by the government of the United States. How the sanctions effect support of French aircraft should, but may not be, the same.

Some news agency reports indicate difficulties with the weather and the plane's two engines, however, no cause is yet known for the plane crash.
