NTSB Sends Go Team To RJ Crash Of Comair Flight 5191 Print

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has sent a "Go Team" to Lexington, Kentucky, to investigate the early morning August 27, 2006 crash of a Comair regional jet carrying 47 passengers and three crew.

According to initial reports the Bombardier CRJ-200 crashed at 6:07 a.m., shortly after take off from Lexington, Kentucky's Blue Grass Airport bound for Atlanta, Georgia. Note: The NTSB preliminary report posted on the NTSB website states this aircraft is a "Bombardier CRJ-200," with tail number "N431CA." However, media reports and the Federal Aviation Administration's accident data website describes the accident aircraft as "Make/Model: CRJ1 Description: CANADAIR CRJ-100, RJ-100 REGIONAL JET."
