Several small objects seen flying adjacent to the Space Shuttle Atlantis are causing sufficient concern for the safety of the orbiter that NASA has delayed the landing of the spacecraft until additional investigation into the items is complete.

At least one item has been identified as likely being a small plastic bag. The Shuttle crew has already used Atlantis' robotic arm to move a camera over the critical heat shield which NASA said at the time was safe for return to earth.
