Gulfstream G-II Overruns At Burbank, California Print
Aviation News
The National Transportation Safety Board has sent an investigator to the scene of the Friday the 13th, 2006, runway overrun of a Gulfstream G-II (N113AR) at Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport, Burbank, California.

The aircraft, carrying five passengers and two crewmembers, overran runway eight and was stopped by an Engineered Materials Arresting System (EMAS). There were no injuries to those onboard and minor damage to the aircraft.

The Safety Board will retrieve the airplane's cockpit voice recorder, gather radar data, and evaluate the performance of the EMAS system during this incident.

According to the NTSB the Safety Board has made recommendations regarding airport runway safety areas and is interested in examining the performance of EMAS.
