British Airways 777 Crash London Heathrow - Engines Failed Print
Airline News
Airline News - There is new information about the accident at London's Heathrow Airport of BA Flight 38, a British Airways Boeing B-777 that landed short of the runway. Initial evidence from investigators is that the engines failed to respond while on final approach.

According to statements released by investigators today, while on final approach the autothrottle of the Boeing 777-300 commanded power at least twice when the engines failed to respond.

The accident aircraft was being flown by the first officer (co-pilot) who attempted to recover the aircraft by selecting manual throttle but to no avail.
