If you ever wondered what it would be like to fly across the surface of Mars now is your chance for the ride of a lifetime! Using state of the art computer animation and information produced by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) spacecraft, NASA has created a beautiful and exciting look at the so-called Red Planet.
Narrated by NASA scientist Rich Zurek, this video is a must see for kids with an interest in astronomy and space.
Features of Mars include Candor Chasma, Mojave Crater, Nili Fossae, and Victoria Crater. The images come from the HiRise instrument of Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and there is a final sequence featuring the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity.
