JAL (Japan Airlines) May File For Bankruptcy

Published reports state that Japanese flag carrier Japan Airlines (JAL) may file for bankruptcy protection as early as 19 January 2010.

Consequences of the filing include possible layoffs and route closures on both domestic and international services. The reports also claim offers are being made for the carrier by Delta Airlines and American Airlines.
